ThreatLight Darkweb Monitoring — Terms of Use

Last updated November 2025

Welcome to Darkweb Monitoring, a service designed to help organizations understand whether their names may have appeared in known data compromises. We built this tool to make verified breach information accessible in a responsible way — to inform, not to alarm. The results are shared for your awareness and protection, and we ask that you use them in the same spirit. Please take a moment to read the terms below.

Purpose and Acceptance

ThreatLight, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("ThreatLight"), provides this Service to help users identify potential compromise indicators related to organizations. By using the Service, you represent that your use is lawful and, where applicable, authorized for the organizations you submit, and that you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms").

Description of the Service

The Service allows you to submit your organization's name and receive results indicating whether it appears in datasets associated with known breaches or credential exposures. Information is drawn from multiple verified intelligence sources, including data originating from underground or 'dark web' channels, collected lawfully and used strictly for defensive purposes. ThreatLight does not disclose exact data sources or collection methods.

The Service is informational and currently provided at no cost for awareness and protection. ThreatLight may adjust its availability, scope, or access terms in the future. ThreatLight also offers separate paid cybersecurity and incident response services; these Terms apply only to this Service.

Eligibility and Authorized Use

Use of the Service is limited to individuals aged 18 or older who have legitimate control or authorization to represent the submitted organization. By using the Service, you confirm that you have such authority. ThreatLight may request verification and may deny access if authorization cannot be demonstrated. Automated or bulk use is prohibited without written consent.

Privacy and Data Use

To deliver results, the Service requires limited identifying or contact details and the submitted organization name. ThreatLight processes this information solely to confirm your submission, send the results, and ensure service integrity. The handling of personal data is described in the ThreatLight Privacy Notice, which complies with the GDPR and other relevant laws. That Notice forms part of these Terms but does not need to be opened or separately agreed to for Service use.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, data, and related materials are owned by ThreatLight or its licensors. Use of the Service grants you no ownership or license beyond these Terms.

Disclaimers

The Service and its outputs are provided "as is." ThreatLight makes no warranty — express or implied — as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose. You remain solely responsible for how you interpret and use any results.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ThreatLight shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (including loss of profits, revenue, or data) arising from your use of the Service. Subject to any non-excludable rights, ThreatLight's total liability will not exceed any amount paid specifically for this Service.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify ThreatLight, its officers, and affiliates against any claim or expense arising from misuse of the Service, breach of these Terms, or unauthorized use of submitted data.

Service Availability

ThreatLight may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. Nothing in these Terms creates an obligation for ThreatLight to maintain or continue providing the Service.

Changes to These Terms

ThreatLight may update these Terms periodically. The latest version will be posted on the ThreatLight website with the updated date. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable U.S. federal law. Disputes will be handled exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
